Born and raised in Johannesburg South Africa, Christopher Grant Harvey began his film career at home making short films with his friends where he shot, directed and edited most of his films. This fueled his intense desire for storytelling, and after completing four years of film school at the Motion Picture Academy of Pretoria he majored in writing, editing, and directing; and graduated cum laude in 2008.

In 2006 his student film H-49 (2006) was selected to play at the Durban International Film Festival that year. He followed that success with his fourth year student film A Life with Less Meaning (2009) that went on to win the prestigious Gold Award at the Colorado Film Festival in 2010.

In 2009 he got a break into the industry in the form of a feature film Everyman's Taxi (2009) which he worked he co-edited. The following year he worked on three more feature films, The Race-ist (2010) for which he directed the pickup unit and the films editor. He followed with the action packed feature film Eternity (2010/I) working as the Director of Photography/Camera Operator and co-editor. In 2011 he has worked on four more feature films as the Digital Off-loader. He recently finished work as Cinematographer on the feature film Angel Of The Skies, a period piece that tells the story of a South African pilot who flew in combat with the Royal Air Force over Europe through 1939 – 1945.

He is a member of S.A.G.E (South African Guild of Editors) and he continues to work as a freelancer, priding himself in delivering the highest quality work. His main aspiration is to write and direct feature films in Hollywood.
